Who we are
Ciste (cistemission.com) is a nonprofit accounting software product currently in development. When we refer to "Ciste," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy, we mean the team building this product. Our contact email is hello@cistemission.com.
What information we collect
We collect information you give us directly and information collected automatically when you visit the site.
Information you provide: When you submit the early access form, we collect your name, email address, organization name, role, annual revenue range, and current accounting software. We use this to reach out when the product launches and to understand who we're building for.
Analytics data: We use Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics tool, to understand how visitors use the site. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records page views, referral sources, and general browser/device type. No data is sent to Google or any third-party analytics provider.
No cookies: We do not set tracking cookies. The Tally form (used for early access signups) may set functional cookies necessary to operate the form. We have no control over Tally's cookie behavior — their privacy policy is available at tally.so.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Contact you when Ciste launches or when early access slots open - Send occasional product updates if you've opted in - Understand the needs of the nonprofit finance community to build a better product
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.
Who we share information with
We share your information only as necessary to operate:
Tally: Early access form submissions are processed by Tally.so. Tally stores form responses on our behalf. Their privacy policy is at tally.so/privacy.
Email: We may use a transactional email provider to send you updates. We will update this policy when we have selected a provider.
We do not share your information with data brokers, advertisers, or any third party for their own marketing purposes.
Data retention
We retain early access form submissions for as long as is necessary to contact you about the product launch. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so promptly. Email hello@cistemission.com with the subject "Delete my data" and we will remove your record within 7 business days.
Your rights
You have the right to:

Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Early access form data is stored by Tally using their security infrastructure. We do not store payment information — we haven't launched yet and are not collecting any payments.
Children's privacy
Ciste is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us at hello@cistemission.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the product evolves — particularly when we launch and begin collecting billing information. We will post the updated policy at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will notify early access subscribers by email.
